The Health Care Executive

Michael McDonough (Health Services Administration)

Today, the American healthcare system is the subject of passionate debate and is changing more rapidly than almost any other field. The field is changing in terms of how and where care is delivered, who is providing those services, and how that care is financed.  As a result of the transformation taking place, career options for healthcare executives are becoming more diverse.  Healthcare executives work in a variety of settings, including hospitals and integrated delivery systems, managed care organizations, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, and consulting firms, to name a few. These executives are the ones managing this changing field. In their roles, they have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to improving the health of the communities served by their organizations. In this seminar, we will explore the healthcare field.  You will learn how and where healthcare services are delivered, who provides those services, and how to pay for them.
