Introduction to Renewable Energy Technologies

Mona Zebarjadi (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering)
Keivan Esfarjani (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering)

The course introduces students to different technologies used to generate electricity and mechanical energy (cars) from renewable and clean energy resources. The idea is to expose students to different fields—solar, thermal, and chemical energy conversion systems—so that they can choose their area of interest for studying renewable technologies. We will have in-class demonstrations of different renewable energy kits, view short movies that introduce different fields of renewable energy research, and have presentations and panel discussions on topics such as climate change and hydrogen economy.
